about me

Welcome to my website! I'm Catarina, a Digital Product Architect | Consultant now based in Lisbon, Portugal.

Over the last 3 years, I have refined my "Logic meets Beauty" approach by immersing myself in the Nordic market, where I lived and worked to deeply understand the Scandinavian approach to minimalism, functionality, and user sovereignty.

My growth is never static, I'm obsessed with exploring how AI can help designers work smarter and faster.

my journey

I studied Computer Science & Business Management at ISCTE Lisbon, a 4 year Bachelor Degree that taught me great design isn't a feeling, it’s a data backed architecture and decisions built for performance.

I didn't start as a designer. I started in Quality Assurance, writing test frameworks, auditing user flows, and learning exactly how digital products fail when no one is paying close attention.

From there I moved into Frontend Development, then into Product Design. That path wasn't accidental. Every step gave me a layer: I think in systems, I read code, and I've been on the other side of a broken interface enough times to know what it costs.

how i work

My design approach, what I call Nordic Structuralism, is built on 3 ideas: functional minimalism, user sovereignty, and decisions backed by data and technical intuition. Nothing is on the screen because it looks nice. Everything earns its place.

My time in Finland, working with Nordic clients and in the Scandinavian market, shaped how I think about restraint in design. The best interfaces are the ones users don't notice - because everything just works.

AI Workflow & Scalability

I love exploring AI and how it can help designers work smarter and smarter. I view AI as a high performance team member, and integrate it into my workflow by bridging the gap between complex data analysis and rapid deployment, ensuring the project is built with both human intuition and machine precision :)
